This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Veterinary Medical Center on the MSU campus and is being organized by the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU/CVM), MSU Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (SVECCS), and the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA). We will have leading experts from our college (including Dr. Ari Jutkowitz, Dr. Matt Beal, and Dr. Steven Mehler) present various topics in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine with a theme of “Emergency Surgical Interventions” as well as other timely and updated topics. In addition there will be a “hands-on” Wet Lab Session on various common Emergency Procedures. Our invited guest speaker this year will be Dr. Soren Boysen, a 1996 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, who completed a residency in emergency and critical care medicine at Tufts University before becoming a diplomate of ACVECC in 2003. Dr. Boysen is a highly respected expert and CE lecturer in the field of veterinary emergency and critical care and is currently on the faculty at the University of Montreal.
A continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided and are included in the registration fee. If you are interested in attending, please watch the MVMA website for a link to the conference, or contact Dr. Ed Rosser (rosser@cvm.msu.edu) with any questions. We hope you can attend.
